HALO® Laser
HALO® by Sciton is a next-generation hybrid fractional laser treatment designed to dramatically improve skin quality, tone, texture, and signs of ageing.
About This Treatment
What Is HALO®?
HALO is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, meaning it combines two different laser wavelengths in a single treatment:
- Ablative laser – targets the surface of the skin to improve texture, pores, pigmentation, and fine lines
- Non-ablative laser – penetrates deeper into the skin to stimulate collagen, improve firmness, and address deeper damage
By treating both the surface and deeper layers of the skin at the same time, HALO delivers results that were previously only possible with much more aggressive procedures.
What Can HALO® Treat?
Halo is suitable for the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, and is effective for:

- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Acne scarring and mild surgical scars

It is ideal for patients who want noticeable rejuvenation without the prolonged downtime of fully ablative lasers.

Aftercare
- Keep Skin Clean & Hydrated
Gently cleanse with a mild, non-active cleanser and apply a hydrating moisturiser as directed. Avoid scrubs or exfoliants. - Avoid Sun Exposure
Stay out of direct sun for at least 1–2 weeks. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily once approved by your provider. - Do Not Pick or Peel
Flaking and tiny dark spots are normal during healing. Let skin shed naturally to prevent scarring or pigmentation. - Avoid Heat & Intense Activity
Skip workouts, saunas, hot showers, and steam for 48–72 hours to reduce irritation and swelling. - Pause Active Skincare Products
Avoid retinoids, acids, vitamin C, and exfoliants for about 5–7 days or until cleared by your provider.
What to Expect:
Redness and swelling for 1–3 days, followed by bronzing and light peeling. Results continue to improve over several weeks as collagen builds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is HALO laser painful?
Before treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort.
During the procedure, you may feel:
- Warmth
- Mild prickling or heat sensations
Most patients find Halo very tolerable, and the treatment is typically completed within 30–60 minutes, depending on the area treated.
How long is the downtime of HALO laser?
One of Halo’s biggest advantages is its predictable and manageable recovery.
Immediately after treatment:
- Redness and warmth (similar to sunburn)
- Mild swelling for 1–3 days
Over the following days:
- Skin darkening (“bronzing”)
- Microscopic flaking or peeling as damaged skin sheds
Most patients return to normal activities within 3–5 days, with makeup usually possible after 24 hours.
When will I see results of HALO laser?
- Early improvements in glow and texture are often visible within 7 days
- Progressive improvement continues over several months as collagen production increases
Skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months after treatment.
For optimal results, many patients benefit from one treatment annually, though some skin concerns may require a personalised treatment plan.
