About This Treatment

Skin boosters are injectable treatments that deliver hydration directly into the skin using either micro-injections or a cannula. Unlike dermal fillers which add volume, skin boosters improve skin quality from within, enhancing hydration, elasticity, and overall radiance. It's particularly effective for treating fine lines, crepey skin, and dull, dehydrated complexions.

The skin boosters we currently have available in our London and Bromley clinic are Hydromax and polynucleotides. You can find more information on both of these below.

Hydromax by Stylage®

What Is Hydromax?

Hydromax uses lightly cross-linked HA and the antioxidant sorbitol, which improves skin hydration without adding volume or altering facial contours. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin and is responsible for maintaining hydration, while sorbitol helps protect the skin from oxidative stress and supports longer-lasting results. Rather than adding volume like traditional dermal fillers, Hydromax works by improving skin hydration, texture, and elasticity from within, making it suitable for early signs of ageing and dehydrated skin.

Why Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid Is Beneficial

Most skin boosters contain non cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which is what makes Hydromax stand out. Cross-linked hyaluronic acid, as used in Hydromax, has a modified molecular structure that allows it to remain in the skin for longer. This means hydration is released gradually over time, providing more sustained improvement compared to non cross-linked HA, which is absorbed more quickly.

What Can Hydromax Treat?

Hydromax is suitable for the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, and can help improve:

Dehydrated or dull skin

Fine lines caused by dryness

Loss of skin elasticity and firmness

Uneven skin texture

Tired, lacklustre skin

This treatment is ideal for patients seeking skin rejuvenation without downtime or dramatic change.

Benefits of Hydromax

Patients choose Hydromax for its subtle yet effective skin-enhancing benefits, including:

Deep, long-lasting skin hydration

Improved skin smoothness and elasticity

Brighter, healthier-looking complexion

Natural results with no added volume

Minimal downtime

Suitable for most skin types

What to Expect from Your Treatment

Your journey begins with a full consultation and medical assessment. HydroMax is typically administered with a cannula into the mid-to-deep dermis of the skin to treat areas including the face (particularly the cheeks and lower face/jawline), neck, décolletage, and the back of the hands. Treatment typically takes 30 minutes. Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection sites may occur and usually settle within 24–48 hours.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For optimal results, we usually recommend a course of 2 to 3 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, with maintenance treatments every 6–9 months depending on individual skin needs.

Polynucleotides

What Are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that support skin regeneration by improving cell turnover, boosting hydration, and encouraging collagen and elastin production. Once injected into the skin, they act as powerful bio-stimulators, helping to repair damaged tissue and improve overall skin quality.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, polynucleotides do not add volume or alter facial shape. Instead, they focus on skin repair, strength, and vitality, making them suitable for delicate areas and early signs of ageing.

What Can Polynucleotides Treat?

Polynucleotides are suitable for the face, neck, eye area, décolletage, and hands, and are particularly effective for:

Fine lines and early wrinkles

Dehydrated or crepey skin

Loss of skin elasticity and firmness

Dull, tired-looking skin

Sun-damaged or environmentally stressed skin

Delicate areas such as under the eyes

Benefits of Polynucleotides

Improved skin hydration and texture

Enhanced collagen and elastin production

Strengthened skin barrier

Natural-looking rejuvenation

Minimal downtime

Suitable for a wide range of skin types

What to Expect from Treatment

Your treatment journey begins with a thorough consultation and medical assessment. Polynucleotides are administered using fine injections to targeted areas of concern.

The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes. Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection sites are common and usually settle within a few days.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For optimal results, we usually recommend a course of 2–3 treatments, spaced several weeks apart. Results develop gradually as the skin regenerates and continues to improve over time.
